Kristin Parson joined the Division of Community Engagement in 2017 as the YPQI information specialist for the Mary and Frances Youth Center. She contributes to the implementation of the Youth Program Quality Intervention program through data management and analysis.
After navigating the private sector as a financial analyst for several years, Parson followed her passion for education by completing EducateVA’s Career Switcher Program—a statewide initiative to address shortages in Virginia's public schools. With an endorsement in English, she went on to teach in both Richmond City and Henrico County Public Schools. As a teacher, she specializes in alternative education, remediation and lesson authenticity. Her curricula is centered on diversity, social justice, global awareness and compassion.
