Lobs & Lights Sets Tennis Courts A-Glow
"Lobs & Lights," a 10th anniversary celebration of the VCU Mary and Frances Youth Center's Lobs & Lessons youth tennis program, was held Oct. 25.
More than 161 participants and volunteers enjoyed a unique nighttime glow-in-the-dark tennis experience, featuring a space-like atmosphere. With only UV paint to light up the lines of the tennis court, net tape, tennis balls, racquets and targets, tennis enthusiasts hit the courts at 9:30 p.m. while youth enjoyed crafts, face painting and tennis games.
Lobs & Lessons is an afterschool enrichment program that strengthens life skills, promotes academics and creates a path to higher education through the sport of tennis.
